[anime & manga] Skip the Beat!

Skip-Beat! (スキップ・ビート!)
official title
hihihi.... this past 2 week has been very very good...
i've finished Ouran Host Club, You're Beautiful, and now, Skip-Beat! ^^

Skip-Beat is a shojo manga with a story revolving around a girl - Mogami Kyoko, who has learned life once again after entering the wonderful world of showbiz!

The 2 male leads, Tsuruga Ren and Fuwa Sho are 2 interesting characters as well. Tsuruga is the white knight and Fuwa Sho.. i dont even know if he can be called a knight for Kyoko (well at least for the Anime version)... but thanks to him, Kyoko opened her world to showbiz where she was able to show her amazing talent as an artist..

There are a lot of hilarious scenes here that are very enjoyable to watch...
the thing about 'Love Me' department is really crazy... this is where amazing talents who seem to lack something (even the scouts or runners don't know what) go... ^^
Kyoko is really impressive... you'd just laugh, and laugh, and laugh during the crazy scenes... at the same time, you'd cry and be touched by her words...

Spending most of my time this weekend just to sit and watch, and finish this Anime is worth it....
hihi... oh and I love the first ending theme sung by 2BACKKA - Namida..

^^

[kdrama] You're Beautiful ^^

미남이시네요
official title
main characters

^ o ^
oooo.......eee.... ive got another favorite Korean Drama eh....
i really enjoyed watching this series.. some might say it's another teen drama...
howel..
it's another drama for those who enjoy young and fresh love plus comedy, i'd prefer that! ^^

although the plot is really not that original..

it's like a mixture of Coffee Prince (girl pretended to be a boy and falls in love with the male lead) and Boys Over Flowers (story of beautiful princes in their glamorous, famous life)
... but i would really say, You're Beautiful's way better!
thanks to the cast and staff, they did a very good job!

the main casts are definitely a group of younger artists and most are still novices in acting.. but it turned out to be really great! the scenes are very captivating and enjoyable to watch!

some critiques found flaws, that's expected..
the fact that there are elements, as well as the flow of the story,
that have been so used and have already been seen from previous romance-comedy series...
but still! there are parts that were unexpectedly fresh...  and very much convincing..

they gave color and life to the crazy world of showbiz... fandom... the portrayal of the characters are splendid... more realistic! err do i have no good words to mention?eh?

in the story they were from a land of Stars... the name A.N.JELL did not only become famous in the drama, it has been brought to reality now... you could surf the net and find out for yourselves! ehhehhee..

the die-hard fans....wah i can really relate!!!

...i liked the fact that the identity of Go Min-nyu not being discovered by all, gah the President did not even know about it haha...and that her identity was discovered soon, first by the male lead... and dearfully accepted by the other main characters...

i wud say this again.. there were a lot of laughable, and truly remarkable moments!!!!
i love the different approaches on how the feelings of the male leads were expressed towards the female lead! It really was according to their character:

Hwang Tae-Kyung almighty, charismatic, firm, self-centered but still so much lovable...
Kang Shin-woo, the JiHoo sunbae type, the martyr type who would do everything to protect and support his love...
Jeremy, the childish.. ah no, more child-like, bubbly and bright aura, cheerfully living his life and very expressive with his emotions...

again, it turned out that the character i was attracted much to, is Hwang Tae-kyung...
his bitter story about his mother is really touching.. but i did not like that fact that this was used as another barrier for him to love Go Mi Nyu all the way, in the end part of the series...

the actor... Jang Geun Suk, really nailed it! i became a fan over watching a few episodes... i tot he was only good acting mature roles... haish...

i was not much attracted to Kang Shin-woo's character... howel, i have not been a fan of that character anyway... i dunnno... i feel very lonely and guilty for it... but Jung Yong Hwa did a good job i might say... considering that this is was his pilot appearance.

and Jeremy, Jeremy, Jeremy!!!
I like F.T. Island and he's my second favorite (the drummer boy tops my list!) but watching this series really made me a fan!
aside from his powerful voice... he's also a very remarkable actor on screen!!

i wud say his character is more him! full of fun! ^^
Although his moments with Go Mi Nyu were very few, I found his scenes very significant..

the moment when he comforted Mi-nyu and introduced her to 'his' bus....
and his confession scene in 'his' beloved bus..... i really found it very touching & hurting at the same time....

ive read that some reacted to this scene since they could not understand where did the character get the reason to even cry that much, and suddenly got so much affected of knowing that Mi-nyu likes Tae-kyung...
but as for me... knowing his character, it's expected...
they might not have been given moments or scenes to make it obvious like Shin-woo's moments..
but knowing the character of Jeremy, i completely understood why he suddenly exploded when he learned that he was not the one Min-nyu likes..
and if you are going to study more deeply, he must have had also a difficult situation as Shin-woo's since he's begun to like Mi-nyu even when he still knows that she's a boy...he's kept on suppressing his feelings... the scene where he introduced 'his' bus to Mi-Nyu is already a sign of a very deep feeling since that bus is his personal bubble...letting someone in means he's already considered that person as part of his small private life, apart from his bigger, brighter exposed world....

haish... why am i saying a lot about Jeremy's character... i thought my favorite is Tae-kyung's? hehehe... howel....

haish... haish... i have not written a review this long before... even for Cofee Prince and Goong which were 2 of my favorite KDramas...

since i've got a lot of favorite scenes... i decided to enumerate...

frm ep 5
Tae-kyung's genuine smile to Mi-nyu
when they finally found their studio after a long walk

frm ep 7
Tae-kyung and the pig...
wahahaha.. this is really dorky!
.... and so her ran away with all his might.. away from the pig!

frm ep 8
Jeremy's comfort...
haishhhh.... this was much needed..

frm ep 8
Mi-nyu's brightest star cries in the dark...
i cried on this...

frm ep8
Only One Step...
although Shin-woo's character did not dig much into me,
i found this scene really remarkable, but lonesome..

frm ep13
the Pig Rabbit fan test
Taek-yung shi.... i give you more 100s!!!!!

frm ep 14
Jeremy's confession
i cried on this too... it's painful..
... aish... i wish for eye-sandbags to absorb the tears..

aigoooooo.... really got affected by this kdrama! m going to watch it again! ^^

haish... even their OST is great!! they reall stood by their name as music artists by singing their OST songs, A.N.JELL eh!!! these young people are surely talented...

[anime & manga] Ouran Ouran!

official title: Ouran High School Host Club (桜蘭高校ホスト部 Ōran Kōkō Hosuto Kurabu)

(left to right) Kyoya, Tamaki, Hikaru and Kaoru,Haruhi,Honey,Mori

I've had yet another Anime to watch! Ouran! Ouran!
The plot actually is like the plot of Special A. I was able to watch Special A first and I really enjoyed watching because of the lovely pair-up of the lead characters - Kei and Hikari.

Like Special A, Ouran is a club consists of beautiful, extra-ordinary (captivating personalities) people... exemplary abilities, extra-ordinary character ^^ Tamaki (male lead) with his prince-like physicality, outrageous behavior but at the same time, a genuine person who wants everybody to be happy, Kyoya the brain of the club and the one responsible for maintaining the assets and ways to get merits, the Twins - Hikaru and Kaoru who can never be separated and want everybody to know that they are as one but in reality they need people to know that they are different from each other, Honey and Mori Sempai who always exhibit the master-servant relationship, and last but not the least, Haruhi (female lead), whose also different because of her being androgynous and later on, found the comfort and wonderful friendship within the club... ^^

I can't help but make a comparison... hmm...
I would say I liked Ouran more! ^^
Aside from the fact that Ouran is all-male group, and Hikari's identity should remain as a He so he can stay with the club, there are a lot more flavors as the story goes along...
In terms of how the characters are played and introduced, in terms of the flow of the story, and the story behind the characters...Ouran gave a deeper meaning and great justification!
Special A is enjoyable but the entire story seems to revolve and focus more on love couples, especially Kei and Hikari. It also has cute side stories of the other members of the club and describes the life of the other characters but the cuteness of Kei and Hikari's love story still stood out.

Ouran has a lot of hilarious scenes... fangirls who are fond of fanfics will really enjoy this! The feelings of the 2 main leads for each other were not obviously declared but as for me, I still felt the excitement and the *sparkles*.. I even cried for a few scenes haha....

I would recommend this to those Anime lovers who are suckers for romance-comedy love stories with conflicting significant stories of friendship and family...

There were some scenes that were not included in the Anime version as per Manga but the overall message of the story was still conveyed!

[FT ISLAND] Five Treasures Went to Manila!

date: March 6 2010 6pm
venue: Plenary Hall, PICC Manila Philippines

First time watching a showcase with Korean artists! **

i never thought that FT Island also has a lot of Primadonnas here in the Philippines..
Although my first love is SS501, I have already fallen for the songs of these five treasures!
I already made a post about them in here... unlike the typical boyband in Korea,
this group is a real band! They play their own music! ^^

Kasu! I have posted in here a few pics!
sorry for not having close-up ones...
we only used a low-tech cam for this hihihi...
and yah! I will upload some of the vids that I took using Cobs (my ever reliable Corby fon!)

I enjoyed the showcase!
A lil bit sad because my favorite songs are from their latest Jap album,
So Long, Au Revoir..
but I guess they only played Raining from there..
hihihi... but all in all, I really liked their performance!

Bonus: Triple S Philippines (TSPH) showed love and support as well to Primadonna Philippines! we even have a banner ^^
And we won't deny... some of us are also Primadonnas!

putting these together... we can be called.... Prima Peas!!!! haha! ^^
